After a Positive Covid-19 test, Marco Verratti Will Miss PSG’s Match Against Bayern Munich
Marco Verratti, an Italy midfielder, will miss PSG’s-Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich after testing positive for Covid-19 on Friday, according to the French champions.
PSG wrote on Twitter, “He will separate and is being submitted to the required health protocol.”
A positive screen for the novel coronavirus or Covid-19 symptoms in France results in a 10-day mandatory quarantine.
PSG will face Bayern Munich on Wednesday, four days after meeting Lille in a Ligue 1 match in which Verratti has already been ruled out
since contracting a thigh injury while on international duty recently.
With 63 points, the reigning Ligue 1 champions are tied with Lille at the top of the standings. Lyon is only three points behind.
The match against Bayern is a rematch of last season’s final, in which Bayern won 1-0 thanks to a Kingsley Coman goal.
